The cohesive Clarion class of 2012 is at it again. Last year they released The Red Volume and raised $1,500 for the Clarion Foundation. This year–just in time for Halloween—they’re following up with The Orange Volume. The eBook is available for pre-order this week on a pay-what-you-can basis, and goes live on October 31. Readers can snag a copy for free, or donate https://www.binomo-co.in any amount from 99 cents up. All proceeds benefit the Clarion Foundation.

In the years since they left San Diego, the Awkward Robots have amassed an impressive list of publications, with pieces appearing in Lightspeed, Asimov’s, The New Yorker, Strange Horizons, Granta, Nightmare, and Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy.

The table of contents includes Shirley Jackson Award winner and Nebula nominee Sam J. Miller, whose debut novel The Art of Starving was recently acquired by Harper Collins, and Dell Award winner Lara Elena Donnelly, whose debut novel Amberlough is forthcoming from Tor Books. 

Widely-acclaimed author Carmen Maria Machado, who faced off against Miller in the the novelette Nebula category, penned The Orange Volume’s introduction.

The Awkward Robots have again come together to create an excellent anthology of fifteen short speculative stories titled The Orange Volume. 

The Orange Volume will go live October 30, 2015; pre-orders of any amount can be made here!   All proceeds will again be donated to the Clarion Foundation.

We’re proud to announce that we raised over $1200 for the Clarion Foundation with our inaugural anthology, not to mention the hundreds more raised during the 2014 Write-A-Thon proper. We’ve transferred the funds to the Foundation as of today, so any subsequent donations will be added to the pot for next year’s fundraiser (which we’re already working on–look for the Orange Volume in 2015!).

We’d like to again thank anyone who donated, downloaded, read, and/or promoted the Red Volume. If you still need a copy, the anthology will be archived for free download here.

The response to the Red Volume has been really gratifying. Thank you to everyone who downloaded the book, plugged us on social media, and/or donated to the cause.

For those of you who haven’t taken the plunge yet, the Robots will officially be turning over all donations to the Clarion Foundation on Halloween, so please make any last-minute donations before then. (And don’t worry, penniless readers: after Nov 1, the anthology will become freely available here on the site.)
